ABB's Florence, South Carolina facility hosted two successful events last month

2010-06-30 - As part of ABB's Power Products Medium Voltage business unit, Florence is the hub for service and supplies roll-in replacement breakers, refurbishments, and components.

On June 15, 2010 approximately 84 EPRI attendees toured the facility and received technical training at six workshops set up around the factory. These nuclear plant technicians learned about roll-in replacement breakers, refurbishments, engineering, testing, development, and components through hands-on demonstrations and presentations at the various stations.

The following day, almost 40 customers and front-end sales members attended the Florence open house to learn about the factory upgrades and process improvements. First they met the new Low and Medium Voltage Service management team. Then they toured the same six workshops and enjoyed some down home Southern hospitality with a South Carolina style lunch. The open house was a great opportunity to show off our improvements, such as our new layout with better flow, process improvements, paperless factory, as well as demonstrate that our service business is on the right track

Based on all the positive feedback, the Florence open house and EPRI training were successful.

Our facilities are always open to our customers and sales team, please contact Rick Gardner at rick.gardner@us.abb.com or 407-417-2504 if you are interested in a factory tour.
